A few months ago, Future Pharm reached out to Alkemist Labs to have our product tested. Alkemist Labs conducts natural products testing and ran our turmeric extract through a series of tests to check for purity and the overall integrity of the product. We were very happy with the initial test results, and wanted to take testing a step further to confirm curcumin levels as well as acceptable alcohol levels. We’re thrilled to announce that our turmeric passed with flying colors!

More is not always better

The independent lab study showed that our turmeric product has a well-balanced level of curcumin. On a scale of 1 – 8, we scored a 4.5, as illustrated below:

3rd party test

When it comes to curcumin, more is not better! Evidence suggests that curcumin may cause DNA damage and suppress the immune system at high concentrations.

We use the whole turmeric root

The certificate of analysis from the lab confirms that the extract is made from the whole root, stating “This test sample Turmeric Root Liquid Extract (612001) has characteristics of a customized extract derived from Curcuma longa root.”  Our extract formula is not concentrated.

Alcohol levels in the extract

For this test, we asked the lab to go a step further and look at the alcohol content per serving. The ratio of water to alcohol is 2 to 1. Therefore, each 2oz. bottle contains 0.6667 ounces of alcohol. As such, our turmeric product likely qualifies for the NSF Certified Sports® Certification, which we are actively pursuing.

We’re excited about these latest results and wanted to share with our clients! Want to read the whole report?  Contact us and we’ll be happy to send you a copy of the Certificate of Analysis.
